The Love Letters Project

In January I had the idea to run a manifesting workshop with some of my friends.
I’d been researching the power of setting intentions and thought it could be fun.

I brought with me old magazines, paper, pens, scissors, and glue.
They all came with an open mind.

I shared my knowledge of the benefits of manifesting.
The idea was to pull together a vision board.
A vision of what we wanted for the future.

We were all excited and having fun.
We were getting to know each other together, through our hopes and dreams.
We were open.
We were vulnerable.

One of my friends finished early.
She offered to talk though her vision board.
Turning the board to us, she started to talk through.

Then she told us how she wanted to be kinder.
Kinder to her kids.
That she felt bad for getting angry with them.

We reassured her that it’s ok to get angry.
That we did too, that being a parent can be frustrating.
We empathised.

Then something magic happened.
It gives me goosebumps when I think about it.

Another one of my friends took her board from her.
Taking a pen she wrote in large letters.
Be kind to yourself.

How kind. How thoughtful.
What an amazing friend.

It inspired me.
And it’s something I’ve been thinking about ever since.

The power of someone’s words.
The positive impact it can have.
It’s like a gift that keeps on giving.

So I’ve decided to set myself a project.

The idea.

That when we’re going through a tough time.
If we’re feeling down.
If we have self-doubt.

Our friends can help us.
They know us.
They can find the words which can lift us up.
Words that can make us feel heard.
Words that can make us feel seen.
Words that can make us feel understood.
These words can make all the difference.

I thought would it be amazing to share these.
To see if they can help others.

I’m calling it ‘LoveLetters’

I’m going to write letters, ‘Love Letters’ to my family, my friends.
And anyone else who has had an amazing impact on my life.

I will then turn those words into art. Art with love.

I’ll also share some of the wonderful words my friends have said to me.
I’d love it if you shared yours too.

What would you write?
What would you write to someone you love?

Follow my project or email your letters.

Share the journey.
Share the Love.
