ABOUT

Hello I’m Judy, I’m an optimist, artist, designer, business owner and proud mum of two.

I’ve an energetic attitude and a thoughtful imagination. After years in the commercial design world and in-between running my own agency, I find myself endlessly curious and forever inspired.

I create optimistic, vibrant, bold and colourful art, apparel and accessories designed to make a statement. I also founded and run award-winning brand agency Tickety Boo Creative.

It’s my aim to inspire and empower through creativity

My art

I’ve been creating, designing, and making my whole life, but only in the last few years have I had the confidence to create my own art to sell. When I was on maternity leave with my son I discovered a love for hand drawn typography. It gave me the freedom to experiment and express myself. I would sit with my notepad while my son was sleeping and sketch. The positivity focus came when I found it hard going back to work full time after only 5 months. To help me through it I would write myself post it notes of positivity and then share on social media. They were created to cheer me up but found they were having a positive effect on others too. This led to my first mini prints of positivity.

My ideas + inspiration

As a creative person I never switch off, am always having ideas and am constantly inspired by the everyday. I am a big fan of journaling as it helps me process my thoughts and ideas; it’s also full of my initial sketches.

Keep learning always

I have an appetite for learning which has been fuelled in recent years by a found love of reading. It helps grow my mind and expand my ideas. I enjoy most discovering new ways of thinking and understanding other people’s perspectives. I like to capture and share what I’ve learned through journaling and blogging. Here a few of my favourite books:

Essentialism, Greg McKeown
Feel the fear and do it anyway, Susan Jeffers
Dare greatly, Brene Brown
Make time, Jake Knapp + John Zeratsky
Playing big, Tara Mohr

Print love

There’s something special about print, the imperfections, the uniqueness of each print and the tactile nature of the paper. I love the strong vibrant colours you can achieve and get so excited when I finally see my designs in print. My favourite is Risograph and it’s my aim to own my own machine one day.

Flexible working + Tickety Boo Creative

I run award-winning brand agency Tickety Boo Creative which I founded in 2018. After going back to work full time after the birth of my son, I found the commute and long working hours tough. I wanted more flexibility as I still loved what I did, this inspired me to set up a remote working, flexible agency. It’s allowed me to continue what I love to do and work with some incredible talented people. We work with big retailers and small businesses, helping them find their focus, make their brand distinctive and build a connection with customers.
